I purchased this sword several years ago on Ebay because I had never seen one exactly like it. It looks like a Civil War era NCO Militia Knight head sword but instead of a knight head pommel it has a skull pommel. The scabbard has a knight engraved on it holding a shield with 2 crossed axes. The maker's mark appears to be in the shape of a shield with a stylized letter in the shield. Can't make out the stylized letter. Anyone know anything about this sword. My thoughts are it might be Masonic or some other fraternal sword. Definitely looks old.

I think sundays are cursed for posting pics. I assume you have your pics in an online repository such as photobucket? It helps to down size your compression ratios to 96 or less, and keep the longest side of your photos at maybe 6 inches. It's supposed to work then. I've had the same problem on several reviews. Downsizing the photos seemed to be the key.

I agree as well--Masonic.
Is the crossguard crossed bones?
letter Z within a shield is German maker Clemen and Jung.
