You get PAID.... to do housework?! In your own home?! Yee-gads.
you're probably one of those who gets paid for good grades too... My parents took the other route, and instead CHARGED me when I got bad grades or didn't do housework...

Yes, that's about it for me too.
By housework, I meant in excess of what I normally do. Obviously, I don't get paid for menial chores. No, we're not rich, I sweat much for my money.

...And for those of you who are into funkyass videos, this one is set to music and also includes some footage with an ATrim 1312. The only problem is that I had to cut almost 100 Mb out of the video to get it on youtube. The original is the whole song and is at least twice as long at 197 Mb. Hope folks enjoy it anyway... Wild ATrim SBG Forum Video
(I hope Paul likes it, otherwise I might be in trouble)

Where do those bottles keep comin from ? I'm just a natural-born scrounger... I worked a two-day shooting match last weekend and was able to scrounge about 50-60 water and soda bottles from the trash. My dad drinks those small Gatorade bottles (1-2 per day) so I get all those. I go through some water and soda bottles myself. And since I'm having a house built, the workers usually leave a couple of empty bottles laying around every couple of days. But the real secret is...I pick up plastic bottles from the roadside when I can, as a public service. I also supplement with 1-gallon jugs of "drinking water" from the local Walmart, which is really just tap water and cost 64 cents each. In total, I cut about 350-400 bottles yesterday, using 7 different swords. This video was made with the footage from the 2 swords I used the most. And my shoulders are sore this morning...

That last vid was awesome. I like your form is striking the high bottles with the "cross-strike". That is most useful in fighting sheildmen. I also like the credits you did at the end. That was very cool.
One thing that caught my attention, is when you smacked the handle of the sword and the whole blade vibrated. I don't like that. Both my G2 Lucern and Blackprince do that too and I had wondered for a long time if that would be the case with a more expensive sword. Well you answered my question. Thanks.
Mike ....regarding picking up bottles from the roadside... the neighbors might start talking. Here in NYC homeless people make a living collecting bottles and returning them for the 5 cent refund.

That vibration shows where the center of percussion (CoP) is on the blade. Her eis a myArmoury article for further clarification: www.myarmoury.com/feature_properties.htmlIt is not at all a bad thing to have that vibration.

If a sword DIDN"T do that, it would be strange. Vibration is always present, it's the degrees of this that vary. My gen2 witham doesn't do it much at all yet my windlass sword of war is downright floppy.

I prefer not to have it if posible. It is not present (or not noticable) in some of my blades with a thicker cross-section.

It it didn't it would mean that the blade is WAY too stiff, which would mean either a) it's uber hard and will shatter when you hit something with it, or 2) it's way overbuilt and probably weights over 10 lbs.

[ Hi Mike, I noticed in your (very cool) video that the video and audio was very good quality. If you drop the quality down a little bit then you might be able to fit the whole scene into the file. Out of curiosity, what video editing program do you use?

mike, i saw that occasionally you hit the adjacent stand with your follow through... were these the later cuts (tired forearms and shoulders) or an inevitability with the sword's length?

Very cool vid Mike! I liked the little touches in the editing with the 'instant replay' of the cuts timed perfectly with the changes in the song. VERY nice work there...! That Atrim definitely cuts, tracks and handles very well - nice stuff!! ;D

Tsafa, Definitely a second to that Adam said. the more "cut oriented" a sword is, the more flex it should exhibit...to a point. This longsword is perfect for that. vyapada, I hadn't thought of that, bu I doubt I could cut the size in half and have it be of decent quality. But I will try that, thanks. Oh, and I use Cyberlink Power Director Express that came free with my bargain-basement JVC Everio digital video camera. Mr. V, It was mostly a result of the angle of attack, how close together the stands were (so all 4 would fit into the frame) and how long the blade is. I don't think there were any instances of that with the 1312 with it's 31-inch blade. And the video with it was shot last. Thanks everyone, for all the kind words. This was mostly done for a learning experience, and I learned a lot. I have some ideas for some better stuff now...( evil laugh fading into the background)

Oh, and I use Cyberlink Power Director Express that came free with my bargain-basement JVC Everio digital video camera. ShooterMike, How do you like the software that came with the Everio? I just got one a couple of weeks ago. I have yet to install the software because I don't think my computer will handle it. It is more than five years old. Go ahead and laugh everyone, it's only got a 900 MHZ processor and maxed out on RAM at 512 MB. Heck, the Everio has a bigger hard drive than my computer. I have not had any problems until recently with it's performance. But now, I want to process video and have shot photos at a couple of weddings. The volume of photos I digitally process has increased quite a bit. I am working on getting a new computer, but in the mean time, I may need to install the Cyberlink Power Director Express on my wife's computer...

Hey shootermike, I've surprised myself time after time as to the power of video and audio codecs! My cameras suck so I just keep on bringing the quality down in steps while I don't notice a drop in visual quality. As you have a good camera it will be a bit of a trade off. I use virtualdub (it's free) as it's quite powerful and simple to use once one gets the hang of it.

Marc, I'm slowly getting the hang of Power Director. I haven't spent a lot of time with it, but I like it pretty well. One very repeatable problem I have experienced is that if you load up a fairly long video and try to trim off more than 49 seconds from the beginning... it will hangup forever and you have to kill it with Task Manager and start over. That was a little frustrating until I figured out not to do that. VY, I will try downsampling the quality to see how small I can get this video, for learning purposes. However, the song gets pretty raunchy near the end, and I don't really want to post that version on this "family friendly" website.

Hi shootermike, That's quite understandable - if you would like to try your hand at a transition into another song that might be suitable... I'm not familiar with your software.
