My SCA Shire did a demo for the local library and we made the Northwest Florida Daily news. www.nwfdailynews.com/article/5325/Highlighted in the video is my cutting demo and some SCA combat. I used a Paul Chen Hand and a Half for the box cut. It was the same one I bent during a cut with a rolled rice mat, which I had re-straightened and now only use for light cutting. I am the one that dies during the SCA combat. Though we were fighting hard our goal was more about putting on a good show than fighting. Normally I would patiently wait for an opening or throw a few shots to judge reaction and work to make an opening. Here we are just swinging all out to keep the crowed engaged.

Very cool ;D As an educator I love to see when people encourage kids to learn and make it fun. Face it, it just makes it easier for the kids(and adults) to learn when you're having fun. Besides, it is a great way to add new young members to our sword loving community. Great job trueswordsman

That is really excellent Trueswordsman. Live Demo's are very important to introduce people to what we do. Do you have any video or pictures from the Demo. I did a mini-torni/demo myself this weekend. I was planning to post some picts tomorrow.

The link to my Household website's event pictures page is: www.gryphonskeep.org/page1003.htmlThis is one of my favorites from a demo we did in April at the local museum. It is one of my household brothers who thought it would be cool to wear his 300 immortal mask under his helm...and of course it was!

Thanks, I appreciate the compliment. We have worked hard to form a strong warrior household with a distinct coat of arms that will stand out during battles. My goal is to form a fighting unit that is feared by all who oppose us. We are also very active in the Shire. I am deputy Seneschal and another one of my household brothers is the Hospitaler or Gold Key. This is our shire website. www.phoenixglade.org/index.html

If you join a shire in the Kingdom of Ansteorra we may get to cross swords at Gulf Wars. It is one of the biggest events in the south.
