Here are a bunch of links for European sword DIYers. Pommels and guards seem to be the hardest to find. Please add any distributors you know of that aren't on the list. Please comment on your experience if you have dealt with one of these suppliers. I know threads like this have come up before, but I thought it would be helpful to have a lot of these links in one place. Please feel free to contribute.

I just ordered a pommel from these guys. Good quality, even, centered.

To see what the parts here look like, click the "swords" or "broadswords" link on the left and you can see the parts on one of their swords. There are a few gems here.

Bronze fittings for Viking swords and scabbards. This one is familiar to a lot of us I reckon. I've bought from them twice. Good customer service.

Mercia Sveiter: loads and loads of cast bronze chapes, lockets, buckles, strap distributors. I've handled some of their stuff and it's thick, a bit rough, but serviceable. I believe this is where Viking shield gets all their fittings.

Very nice looking chapes.

Lot's of pretty stuff: mounts, buckles, jewelry etc.

Viking scabbard fittings.

There are some pretty nice chapes here- tab through the other periods etc to see more. Click the British flag for English. Took 6 weeks to deliver, worth the wait. Excellent quality. Not too thick walled, no grind marks, can't tell where the sprues were.
