*sigh* because you expect great quality for $12. The sad thing is he gets a hard on over these things. No samurai would carry that piece of garbage and you couldn't tear anybody up with anything in his collection you'd tear yourself up first. I agree with him though everything in his collection is ridiculous.

Honestly, with this guy being on Youtube someone should send him a message to invite him over. I got pretty excited about my 30$ daisho 6 years ago. Then I came here and learned more, and that was my springboard.
I think I'll send him an invite.
EDIT: Youtube is being stupid and not letting me comment. Someone else feel like inviting him?

Sure thing, Dan, I'll do it. Give me a few minutes to eat breakfast , and then I'll send him a friendly, SBG-spirited invite. ;D Good idea, I was actually just thinking about it anyway. -Slayer

I don't recommend doing it through the comments however, it will be seen as blatant advertising..

Is there even the ability to send messages on youtube? I pretty much never use it for that purpose.

There is, it's just a bit awkward to use.

I really wouldn't even call it a sword in any sense of the word, it's just like some sorta of weapon-looking thing. Strange that all these outlandish blade designs were never used when bladed weapons were actually still widely used in war. Not trying to put down other people's collections or fantasy swords, although I don't see any point in buying something like that. It doesn't replicate anything even remotely historical, and I doubt it's of good quality either, like the Windlass fantasy swords. The only reason I could see you needing something like that is if you wanted to kill someone with it. Then again, not to long ago I found cheap/weird fantasy sword/machete things cool. I wanted a $14 one from budk, although I decided that was to much money and opted for a $9 one instead. wow...

Yeah, I agree on all of those, except I did like the look of that dragon saber, even though I know it was made like crap I would like one if it was built well Heck I might even get one of those...and hang it on a wall as art I usually don't like sabers anyway, (for me, they seem to have a horrible balance and tiny grips) but every once in a while I see some variation I like. But why is the Critical Mass Katar bad I was thinking of getting one of those

It looks like it would weigh 15 pounds, and you would have to have a Popeye arm to wield it. Unless it is made from plastic, which is an immediate NO NO, or Titanium which would price it in the Ozone.
It is cool looking in a far out, robot zombie, I can hack through the hull of a spacecraft, kinda way though.

Look at the bright side, guys! If you put your hand over the blade part and just look at the handle, it looks normal.
It might be good for stopping that door from closing shut, but other than that it is the most repulsive thing I've ever seen. I want it! ;D

That sword is Raven's Claw - A custom piece by Rick Barrett. www.barrettcustomknives.com/contemporary_galleryA bit above the 300 dollar mark I'm guessing. Sadly I can't think of any non-SLO in our price range of a similar style. A custom Odinblades or Fable blade would be your best bet.

Wow Rick Barrett's katanas have some wicked Hamon going on. I love the O'Kissaki at the top of his available page.
