Any TRUE Highlander fan knows... there WAS no second movie. Every true Highlander fan knows to ignore ANYTHING that relates to the never happened second movie. And yet, you know what "Zeist" signifies. ;D

That looks pretty sweet, Pogo, and I'm not really a katana guy. Loved the Highlander series tho.

I haven't posted on anything else because I've been busy training and haven't really had a chance to look over the site. I just barely joined like a month ago and this has been my first opportunity to post about anything.
I am a helicopter mechanic and we've been really busy lately with recaps and overhauls of various birds so, yeah, I will post about more when I get the chance, I just thought I'd pop in a see what people are saying. That's all.
But right now I'm going to be busy again and I just thought a quick reply was in order.

Wow - so much money for what is still a Hanwei PPK. I think I'll stick with paying $300+ for a PPK and fore go the highlander styled tsuka etc. I mean really what are you paying for? In the end, fancy tsuka or not, you're still just buying a PPK. Same goes for their Bushido line of Highlander swords. In the end you're buying a Hanwei Bushido. I'm of the mind that the majority (at least 50%) of your money spent on a fully mounted katana should go to the quality of the blade. The fact that in this case only 1/3 of the money is going toward the blade I'm thinking its a bad buy. In fact 1/3 of the price is for the blade, habaki and saya. The other 2/3 of the price is for the tsuka and tsuba... percentages are way out of my acceptable range. To me that's kinda like purchasing a Musashi brand $80 katana and sending it off to Fred Lohman or Skip Gardner for custom mounting. In the end its still just an $80 blade in fancy fittings. As for the idea of the Highlander sword itself - I loved the Highlander series despite the fact that it was (most of the time) corny or just downright bad. Same goes for the movie(s). I don't care - I just like the idea of sword wielding immortals running around chopping one another's heads off. At one time I dreamed of owning a good functional Highlander sword but have come to the realization that its just not a good purchase. For the same amount of money I can get a better sword from Hanwei, DF or other dealer.

shinsei...as a mechanic, you ever get to test fly them after you've repaired them?
I suppose if you HAD to have one of these Highlander kats, the one shown on Point Gallery is the best looking one I've seen thus far. They mount those handles on Chen Practical Plus blades...could do much worse.

Sadly, no I haven't been able to arrange a test flight on one of my birds. After 9-11 they are a lot more strict on who goes up. I don't have that permission....yet.
I checked the Zeist site again and they have a lot more products now.
Has anyone ever heard of Munetoshi? They sound good and they are decently priced for laminated and folded steel, but I'd like to know more about them.
I'm guess I can ask them huh?
