It's not marketed to sword nuts, it's marketed toward fans of the game. It seems you can't wrap your mind around the fact that some people can, and are willing to, shell out considerable sums of money for decorative objects. It's not a sword, it's a limited run of a piece of art. It has no function aside from looking good to people who think it looks good. If you don't like it, there's a really simple solution: DON'T BUY IT. No one is forcing you to. But at the same time, don't whine about how it's not a functioning sword. I'm sure you have plenty of crap sitting around your bedroom that has no real-world function. Toys, models, posters, potpourri, whatever. Everyone has a right to their own sense of aesthetics, and they can do with their money as they please. All you can do is warn these people, to be sure they don't think they're getting a functioning sword. Don't criticize them for it. As the old saying goes, when you point a finger there's three more pointing back at you. Yes.....then why buy it? To put it up on the wall? Why then pay 280,- for it? Furniture should cost about half the sword. So thats worth like what? 140,-? You pay 140,- for a bar of stainless steel? Doesn't add up right? My guess is most money, if not nearly all money goes into the furniture. Maybe something like 30,- for the stainless steel bar thats attached and 250,- for the furniture. For a very tiny ammount more I can custom mount it for that money. Please.... Well said, HR. To each their own.

I'd totally consider it if they did a full-scale replica of Rebellion, Dante's sword throughout the second, third, and fourth games, as well as the short anime series. A company IS making a really nice one, as I pointed out a few threads back, but there's some size issues and I refuse to pay shipping from Europe. The Devil May Cry series is one of my favorites, though I've yet to play #4. It's probably half the reason I first got into sword collecting. My first sword purchase was a used MRL Flamberge, with the intent of modifying it into the Merciless from DMC2. After playing DMC3, and especially DMC3: Special Edition, I've been kicking my ass for trading off my Cold Steel O-katana, since I'd love to mod it into Vergil's Yamato. HR, the wife and I may DMC#4 for Xbox 360 and the game does rock. You've got to try it. My wife is even addicted to this one. Although as far as the swords in the game go I like the character Credo's sword almost like Nero's but different color scheme and a bit more streamlined. But as you pointed to each their own.

Would it be rude of me to say I'd rather pierce my testicle with a fork than buy an anime wallhanger?

actually the sword is on trueswords now for $200. www.trueswords.com/queen-sword-nero-devil-video-game-replica-p-5100.htmlbummed out cuz i bought it off the budk website. well, at least i got serial # 20... lol. it is a really beautiful sword tho. im pretty much happy with it, since i bought it with the intention of hanging it on my wall. even if it were functional i wouldnt use it. its just too heavy and awkwardly shaped to use. plus i have a few other swords i can use. but like somebody said before, there are a few differences between the replica and the sword in the game. mostly just the coloring of that... dunno what its called... the little triangular area above the guard is supposed to be red and gold. and the sword is a bit smaller than the actual scale of the ingame sword, because the ingame sword is huge. its like... nero's height.
