eeeh, do you want to be Dante or not? Dante has no problem swinging it. A real man buys it as it should be and when he cant, he doesn't buy it at all.

okay, thank you for clarifying trivals. In any case, Nero would have no problem swinging it around if it were T10 steel. So that it's Nero's sword and not Dante's sword doesn't change the fact that a real man should buy it and use it as it should be or not buy it at all.

haha, so that justifies turning it into a cheap wallhanger and making a big fuss out of it and selling it way overprized to a bunch of fanboys?

Swordnut: That last post was completely irrelevant to the post before it and to Hairu's post. Them being have Demon DOES justify the over-sizedness of their swords, as they can use it, but a regular human cannot. A Real man would buy it, get it replicated in Combat steel (T-10, 9260, 1095 etc...) and then attempt to use it and pop a hemorrhoid.
Even if the sword was functional, it would not be wieldable, thus end up on a wall, and not be much different from one made of Stainless.

Yes.....then why buy it? To put it up on the wall? Why then pay 280,- for it? Furniture should cost about half the sword. So thats worth like what? 140,-? You pay 140,- for a bar of stainless steel? Doesn't add up right?
My guess is most money, if not nearly all money goes into the furniture. Maybe something like 30,- for the stainless steel bar thats attached and 250,- for the furniture. For a very tiny ammount more I can custom mount it for that money.
Please....

It's not marketed to sword nuts, it's marketed toward fans of the game. It seems you can't wrap your mind around the fact that some people can, and are willing to, shell out considerable sums of money for decorative objects. It's not a sword, it's a limited run of a piece of art. It has no function aside from looking good to people who think it looks good. If you don't like it, there's a really simple solution: DON'T BUY IT. No one is forcing you to. But at the same time, don't whine about how it's not a functioning sword. I'm sure you have plenty of crap sitting around your bedroom that has no real-world function. Toys, models, posters, potpourri, whatever. Everyone has a right to their own sense of aesthetics, and they can do with their money as they please. All you can do is warn these people, to be sure they don't think they're getting a functioning sword. Don't criticize them for it. As the old saying goes, when you point a finger there's three more pointing back at you. Yes.....then why buy it? To put it up on the wall? Why then pay 280,- for it? Furniture should cost about half the sword. So thats worth like what? 140,-? You pay 140,- for a bar of stainless steel? Doesn't add up right? So you confess then? Well, to each their own I guess. Just don't be suprised if even the fittings aren't worth a dime. These sword-like-objects are all show 'n no go. And in the all show 'n no go market people buy very low and sell very high. I'd be suprised if the fittings on this thing are even worth half the cost. If you want a REAL good quality wallhanger, buy Kit Rae. Scratch that. Kit Rae seems to be involved in this. Well, atleast the fittings are worth looking at then.

I'd totally consider it if they did a full-scale replica of Rebellion, Dante's sword throughout the second, third, and fourth games, as well as the short anime series.
A company IS making a really nice one, as I pointed out a few threads back, but there's some size issues and I refuse to pay shipping from Europe.
The Devil May Cry series is one of my favorites, though I've yet to play #4. It's probably half the reason I first got into sword collecting. My first sword purchase was a used MRL Flamberge, with the intent of modifying it into the Merciless from DMC2.
After playing DMC3, and especially DMC3: Special Edition, I've been kicking my ass for trading off my Cold Steel O-katana, since I'd love to mod it into Vergil's Yamato.

If you ask me this isnt that great of a replica and probably wouldnt pay 280 for the sword because on parts of the handle the red is in like splotches of red on black and it is just suppose to be red like the bottom part of the handle
