Hi all!
I´m in the market for a new blunt viking blade for reenactment fighting and it stands between a Paul Binns and the new Hanwei Tinker 9th Century Viking Sword.
Although I have read a couple of reviews of the sharp model I have not seen any feedback on the blunt. Have anybody tried the blunt sparring version and might chime in with some comments? It would be very helpful!
Also, are the scabbard s for the new viking Tinker-swords leather over wood or leather over the same rattling plastic like the Practical Norman and Practical Knightly?
Best regards!

I held one at the Atlanta Blade Show. Its a pretty nice looking and well made blunt, a far cry nicer looking than the Practical Viking Hanwei. It has good balance as well. I think you would like it.

Thank you for you input! It would really be good if there was some "non-stock"-photos of the sword in question, all I have seen are the promo-pics. I have so far only read one review (of the sharp, none of the blunt) and that was without photos. I like the form and decoration, a good interpretation of a viking sword (I have pictures of a similar original one here on Gotland) but the quality are unknown to me. It´s almost three times as expensive as Hanweis budget-blades so I try to figure out if it is worth it. Here are a viking-age sword with similar dot-marks;'

Much obliged! The sharp review gave quite much but not enough for taking the plunge with the blunt model. Maybe later on.
Anyone got a recommendation for another historical sound viking-blunt for reenactment combat? Paul Binns would be my first choice but he have a year waiting-list and I need it this summer for sparring.
Forgive me if this topic is not within the rules of the forum (only sharps?).

You could find some used Paul Binns swords on sale at myarmoury. www.viking-shield.com might have some Binns in stock. Or if not maybe you could go with Armour Class.
