Hey, I was wondering, does anyone have this? I hear a lot about windlass swords have whippy blades, especially if they are on the long side. obviously, this sword has a WAAAAY long blade. On the MRL site it says it has a 3/16 thick blade, but then on KoA it is thicker than the other windlass swords. So, my question is, is the blade of this sword really any thicker? And it appears to have a diamond cross section as well, so does the extra thickness and blade shape make this sword suitably stiff?

I got to handle one the other day. It's very whippy, and not suitable for it's type XVIIIb/XVa (?) at all. You bang the pommel and it wobbles and whips it's head off, big flex. Yeah it's still only their 3/16 steel. I think thats barely thick enough for a 30" blade, let alone 44". The pommel is pretty blocky too. The grip is not bad. It's light for it's size, peened, but underengineered for thrusting. It might make an ok cutter, and maybe of for shadowwork, if you're not too quick and wait for the end of the blade to catch up to the hilt.

Ha, well in that case maybe they need to shorten the handle a bit and just start making Urumi swords!
