I have to say, after finding the Tritonia and the ATrim Maker's Mark Triple-Fuller Type XIII, I've fallen in love with this blade type! Unfortunately, if the choice is between a sword and my rent, I have to go with rent. ;D
Does anyone know of a decent production model XIII or XIIIb? I know Hanwei is going to release the new Tinker GSoW, but that's a XIIIa, and at the expected price I would just save up a little more for the Triple-Fuller. Any suggestions?

Yrx, this is not gonna help, but last year i got a ATMM type XIII from Christian Fletcher, and this is one sweet blade, in fact its probably the most fun to handle of all my swords by quite a margin. If you think that this kind of blade is right for you do not hesitate. I got some work done by Christian on it but if you take it ''barebone '' you'll get an incredible price/performance ratio.
As for an alternative under the 300$ range i'd be more than happy to share one but nothing comes in mind right now, i'd be interested to see one is someone also have an idea...

I'm not really sure, but I think Windlass Polish sword reviewed recently here might be called a XIII. Edit: here is the review: /index.cgi?board=swordreviews&action=display&thread=9892

Yeesh...my luck with Windlass has been a bit hit or miss lately, mostly miss. Just got that Crecy War Sword...its uh...not worth the money if you ask me. Even at the discount I got it for.
That Polish sword is ugly to my eyes but if a XIII is what you're looking for at our sub-$300 price point, you may as well give it a shot. Wasn't it on sale recently? Was that a one day only sale?

enkidu: No, it doesn't really help. XD I guess I'll start saving!
Luka: I'm kind of "eh" on that one. If I could find it for that price, it would probably be worth it, but the cheapest I can find is $200. I don't think I could justify spending that much, at least not with the KC Viking beckoning to me so close to that price range, lol. Thanks for pointing it out, though.
EDIT- It looks like MRL does have that Polish Sword in stock. Still... I don't really know how I feel about it.

I knew it wouldnt... I think i'm dedicated to make your wallet suffer... ...because by the way i have a KC Viking also, and if you dont mind the fact that it has some weight issues and you got a strong wrist you'll have fun with it. On a bonus side even if its a somewhat plain model its very pleasing to look at, it gives that sword a very efficient rustic look. You just have to discard that cheap scabbard and you got yourself one interesting sword. Price, blade, historical accuracy ( plausability maybe more ) and durability are all on the upside on this one. Weight and damn cheap scabbard could be its downfall for some. That polish sowrd has some weird looks... like you Yrx i cant make my mind on this model. that grip looks interesting... if not comfortable. Still looking for a type XIII.. maybe Deltin has something... but i highly doubt its worth half the AT. Have you check out the Windlass Erbach ? Maybe not of the same type but there's some similar characteristics that might appeal you and the price is just right.

The scabbard doesn't bother me on the KC, actually. Kind of a freebie, IMO, because from what I've heard this sword is worth the price on its own. You said it's heavy, but how's the balance? Is handling good?
Eh, don't know about that Erbach. And if I were going to pay for a Del Tin, I'd just save up for the ATrim, haha.

Indeed, its worth it, the balance is a bit affected by the weight, recovery is slow and its a bit tip heavy. But not overly. Keep in mind that the whole thing is rock solid and very well made.

Well, I'll find out if I have a Summer job by the end of the week. I'll probably wait on the ATrim. Definitely something I'll save up for, though.
