Hey all I saw this sword while looking on KOA at Viking swords and it really peaked my interest. However as many may know the search on this site isn't the greatest or maybe I just suck haha, anyway if someone could tell me about it or point me in the direction of some impressions that would be great, thanks. www.kultofathena.com/product~item~500262~name~Damascus+Viking+Sword.htm

Not sure where the original thread's gone, seems the search function is still acting up and I'm not finding it five pages back and don't feel like digging any further at the moment, but there is a review hosted on the main site here: www.sword-buyers-guide.com/damascus-steel.htmlSeems favorable enough.

The main complaints I have heard from this sword is the decorative pieces falling off...so I´m guessing this is one of they good windlass blades...although I´m not so sure about paying that much for a sword with stuff glued on. But if you must have laminated steel, then this is definitely one of the cheaper options....

That one is known to fall apart, but I haven't heard of this one falling apart.

I wasn't aware there were any decorative pieces on this one. Though I do recall the Beowulf (the ring-pommel mentioned by Master, is this the same one?) breaking easily. Bloody plastic bits... Otherwise I can't think of any Windlass swords that fall apart. Well...not in the sense of pieces just falling off, anyway.

So does anybody know if this sword is peened or not? Also does anyone know which of the viking swords are peened and which one's aren't?

As for this sword, I have only heard good things about...not sure if it´s peened or not but you can PM the review author and ask? Or call up KoA and ask...they are very nice folks over there.

I like the sword. There are very limited options when it comes to damascus. Haven't cut with mine, but the finish is real good. Handling is a little bit on the blade heavy side. Thanks vikingjim! Do you have an opinion on this sword?
