Well, just back from the sale. If I had to rate it, I'd have to say a 3 out of 5. There were, as usual, a few gems lying about to be found, but by and large this year's offerings were a bit disappointing to me. A large number of their Atlanta Cutlery swords and daggers were available in the scratch and dent area, with swords in the $50-90 range and daggers $25-45. (Read thin and whippy for the swords here guys). The better MRL sword offerings (other than rapiers) were pretty limited, and included a fair number a customer returns (pre-sharpened). Quite a few helms and several shields were available as well. Oddly, and somewhat disappointingly, there were far fewer hilt parts and bare blades than usual. All in all, the best buys to be had were in the period clothing- especially for the lady's or if you're a Small or Medium male- far fewer for L/XL.
Still and all, I managed to drop a little less than $500.00 and walked away with a Swedish Viking and a Battle of Hattin sword, a Scottish Cutlass (sans basket-hilt- this is going to be a great project blade), their version of the Frankish axe (read tomahawk :/ ), a Scottish Dirk, a fantasy dagger, a couple of spare scabbards, 2 flags, a belt, and 3 dresses for my lady faire.
It's still going on until about 5 this afternoon, so if you're in the Atlanta area, its probably worth the trip.

I was there as well... but I did not make it until a little after 1pm... and by the time I got there, it looked as tho all the good stuff had been well and fully plundered. They had a lot of Franken-swords... swords they had just cobbled together with random parts and blades to create funky hybrid swords that are NOT found in their catalog. Some of these were very tempting, as the prices for these swords ranged from 40 - 85 on avarage... but none of them jumped out at me and said 'own me!' for any reason except the price... so I had to pass. As it was, I only got a rapier and a few clothing items... I was bummed. Guess I have to make it a LOT sooner next time.
