Hi all, This is my first review, so please bear with me. First why did I get this sword? well, it was the easiest choice to make, a functional sword I wanted to add to my collection. The real challenge is with my next acquisition... I got the sword from Warriors & Wonders, went with a Canadian vendor to avoid handling fees. I am quite happy with their service. This model is hand forged and comes in natural hardwood saya. I am a fan of natural finishes, so it works for me. Forged High-Carbon Blade Blade length: 28 1/4 Handle length: 11 Overall length: 42 3/4 Weight: 1lb 11oz As it is stick sword there is not much aesthetic parts to it, so i tried to make it up with some artsy pictures. A close up of the handle Now for the cutting. I can say the blade has performed well. The handle is very light, so it takes a bit of getting used to the weight distribution. Historical Accuracy: ?/5 Fit and Finish: 4/5 Handling: 4/5 Structural Integrity: 3/5 Value for Money: 3.5/5 The only negative thing is the the fit between the blade and the saya which is a bit loose but easily fixable with a wood veneer. So I am rather happy with my purchase. At least it is a start, right? Cheers!

If you had to do it all over again, would you consider the 22" version (in red)?

I did look into the red lacquered saya option. The only reason I went this one, is the natural saya. However, as i wont be doing extensive cutting with this blade, I could have get the 22". Do you own one or considering to buy one?

Hey Curly... Where did you get that scroll in the first (and some later) pics? Do you know what it says? I ask because I have that exact scroll, as well as 6 others, that I got from an estate awile ago. It's weird to see the EXACT same scroll somewhere eles. I'll attatch a picture a little later.

small world! I got it in Hong Kong actually, I travel a lot for work!
I asked a friend to translate when buying, so it doesnt mean "Nemo and his buddy" ;D
I think the story was the word for fish in Chinese is pronounced as the word abundance, so it says "gold fish" which can be pronounced as "gold abundance"
