I ordered from the SBG store and had to wait an excruciating 10 days before it arrived. That's okay it was well worth it. We all know how this sword performs, but I think we could all use a few more glamor shots, eh?
Came with a nifty little card:
Note the brass mekugi set in the lower ana. This was not mentioned on the cheness site, and I don't know if it's a good thing, or a bad thing.
The sageo seems HUGE to me, but if you've read my previous review, you'll see what I'm comparing it to.
The blade came covered in some kind of gunk that one could tell was white where it was thick near the lower area of the blade. Not bad, but wierd stuff. Well, at least I've never seen it before. It looked quite viscous, so it's probably good stuff.
The blade after being wiped:
I've got to say, that is the prettiest blade I've ever seen. That hamon almost looks real, but it's too obvious.
I do have slight issue with the length of the kissaki; the one on my 29.5" Masahiro blade is longer that this one. In fact, I just measured, and the Nagasa's kissaki is in fact only 1.5" instead of the 2 full inches advertised. Of course, this isn't really a big deal.
I have found that the POB is about 6" w/o saya, and 7" with.
My tsuka is a whole 12" from the bottom of the tsuba to the end of the kashira.
Ok, that's all I really measured that doesn't match the advertised specs. I find it odd that they're not that accurate. Overall, I'm very happy with this sword. ;D
Oh, and I was just wondering if there was a point at which you have too many pics.
I guess I was beat to mentioning the advertised specs/observed specs discrepancies. Oh well.
