Hello all SBG members
thanks for the great forums that helped me pick the right sword from all the great reviews. ill be giving a review on that one when it gets in. intill then
i wanted to give a review of a blade i picked up from handmadesword.com. The Hand Forged Wenge Zatoichi Full Tang Stick Sword #R709. this is one of there blade specials *Blade (brand new blade in good condition)for sale only, the Saya(scabbard) is damaged(with small crack) during shipment from our vendor, but the Saya(scabbard) will come with the blade when it is shipped to you to protect the blade.* handmadesword.com delivered what they said with speedy shipping and a tracking number there packaging is very nice and wont fall under the blade lol because ill reuse it to send this back out to be worked on
this was bought for just the blade for a cheap project sword to pratice cutting, sharpening and polishing but i want it safe so its going to have a Tsuba added and probally a new handle all together. ok back to the blade.
Blade:1045 High Carbon steel,heat tempered;
Edge: sharp;
Hamon: Obvious hamon,hand polished on;
Tang: Full tang,double-pegged;
Blade Length: about 28.5"
Cost: $44 under $60 shipped recieved in 3 days
the blade looks nice and stright also has some weight to it. here are some more pic's cant get to excited about it until i get it fixed up some but ill be sure to give a better review of it when i get it back.
here are some pic's of the cracked Saya and wooden Tsuka
well i went out and decided to try a milk jug today. nice clean cuts threw everything even my trash can. I'm now building a cutting stand out of a 4x4. pic's below
and
and this on the last cut with no damage to the blade.i was sure i did something to the blade but it handled my bad swing with out a problem.
OOPS!!!!!
sorry no pic's of the blade after this i cleaned and oiled it and put it up.
i cant say anything bad but i cant say much sense i haven't messed around with it much either. but I'm happy with it over all.
handmadeswords.com was great doing business with and i would buy from them again when i see something i want from them.
I'm waiting for a Oniyuri i just ordered from SBG and ill be sure to do a full review of that. lol not like theres already great ones of it.
thanks again and i hope someone enjoys my crappy review
